Finding Hope

Let Your Light Shine

As we wander through this world
Life has so many things in store
Sometimes we feel we can’t go on
Like we just can’t take anymore
But, on the darkest of our days...
There is a light that still shines bright
It keeps us going through our days
And watches over us as night

Do They See Me Cry In Heaven?

Do they see me cry from Heaven? Does it make them sad to see me cry? Someone told me that my loved ones in Heaven are held back by my grief, is this true? These are questions that I am often asked by clients and I wanted to take a moment to touch upon this subject for those of you who also have the same questions.

Delayed Grief: When Grief Gets Worse

Does Counseling Really Help?

"I didn't think counseling would help. I was wrong," Charles shared.

What to Do When Grief Breeds Bitterness

“I don’t say much anymore. I’m too bitter. I’m afraid of what will come out,” Wes said.

What To Do When You Feel Crazy

When Grief Makes Us Feel Crazy

Why Is Life So Hard? Am I Doing It Wong?

I have written many articles with the intention of healing those whom read them. This article has that very intention as well. If anything written within this article challenges your Faith or Beliefs, please know that is never my intention. I am absolutely respectful of the Faith and Beliefs of others.

Grief and Courage

During the holidays my wife and I were having a discussion about our Being With Grief meetup group. We started this group over a year ago and now have over 60 members. That number tells us there are a lot of people out there who recognize that they are suffering and grieving for one reason or another. Yet, only a handful of those people actually show up at each meeting.

Sad vs. Suicidal: “Normal” vs. Complicated Grief

My Father, My hero

Here I am and would give anything to hear you
I would give a big hug so tight
I would have helped you make it right
So many demons and dark issues would appear
You were so strong you never shed a tear
We were so much alike
In so many ways
I was your mini me
Up until the very next day
I'll always love you my dad my best friend
