My mother has been gone from life for what seems like eternity, however, some days it seems like I saw her beautiful face, smelled her Vanilla perfume in her hug, and patted her long black hair just yesterday.

Grieving and Growing Through Traumatic Loss
“Eventually, all things merge into one and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.” – Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It.
My son, Greg, age 13, died by suicide on September 19, 2005.
Ancient Calling
Today my heart soars
as sacred family gathers
in this powerful yet gentle
healing space, to breathe life
and energy into our intention
of healing Mother Earth
and all living things.
An ancient calling has sounded.
One by one we heed the call,
A little more than a month ago, the deaths of 20 children and 6 school teachers/administrators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT shook our nation to its core. We collectively grieve for the families directly impacted and for the community of Newtown.
