Keys (Poem)

We pass these keys, to cease this journey

Our mind freezes, admiring the ceilings

Concealing these feelings of loss

Seemingly tossed inside a soulless world

Never taught how to sew the hurt

Yes, life is a tough tour

Although, we seek guides to countour

This maze which consumes the brain

I Feel Guilty

What happened? Why? We look for someone responsible. Often, that somehow ends up being us. We feel guilty.

From the Grieving Heart:

I Feel Empty

Our hearts can get overwhelmed. Emotions can drain us to the point where we're numb. We're exhausted. We feel empty.

From the Grieving Heart:

How Could This Happen?

We wonder about a lot of things. Our questions multiply. How could this happen? Why? Why them? Why me? Why this? Why now? No wonder we get upset - and angry.

You Were Just Here

When we get hit by loss, our hearts are stunned. Our loved one was just here. What happened?

Avoiding Grief: Why It Doesn’t Work

No one wants to be sad. In fact, we spend a good part of our life in the general pursuit of happiness, doing anything we can to avoid sadness, heartache, discomfort and pain. That is, until someone we love dies.

Feeling Lonely & Isolated in Grief

Helping Others Understand the Loneliness of Grief

Loss and loneliness often go together

“People say they know what I’m going through. No, they don’t. They can’t,” Carter said.

Grief is lonely. No one knows exactly how you feel. It was your relationship and your loss – yours alone.

From the Grieving Heart…

I feel alone.
