How does one describe grief?

How does one describe grief?

Imagine you are suddenly in a boat

In the middle of an ocean

Most of the time the wind is light

The waves are small and bearable

Then suddenly the wind blows harder

The waves became giants

They come crashing over you

You feel as if you are drowning

Then just as suddenly the wind dies down

Once again the waves are small and bearable

You are able to breathe again

Now imagine this happening over and over

That my friend is grief.

About the Author
My husband passed on June 23, 2014. He was my soul mate, my forever love. I know that there will come a day in the future where we will be together again. Thank you God for that assurance. In the meantime ... what a journey.
