Listening Not Knowing What to Say

Listening Not Knowing What to Say

Silence today, is a rare valued presence to possess,
Those who are able to practice it, Christ has truly blessed.
For in seasons of sufferings in the wings of healing solitude,
There are innumerable souls who’ll need this blessing from you.

Just listening to the afflicted in pain is plenteous to bear;
For being with them in time of need shows that you care,
Its speaks above comforting words you would try to say,
For your heart speaks profoundly what you hope to relay.

When they begin to speak and their agonies out pour,
Still listen; only more attentively than you listened before.
For their river of burdens you will hear as they proceed.
In this season a quiet listening heart is only what one needs.

And when you decide to utter some comforting words,
Let them be of the Heavenly Father’s Son…to this do not defer.

 “I am with you always; My peace, I leave and give to you.
Believe by faith these things the Savior promised he would do.
He’s faithful knowing our every care and pain.  He will carry you through”.
