Navigating through Grief During the Holiday Season

As we enter into the holiday season we have choices:

We can choose to focus on how hard it will be without our loved one(s) physically present (essentially deciding that from now until 2020 is going to be: hard, sad, depressing, etc...

We can also choose an alternative focus like focusing on spending the holiday season in the way we know in our hearts our loved one(s) would want us to spend this special time of year.

This isn't to say there will not be difficult moments - moments filled with sadness and tears. That is to be expected and is part of the healing process.

Feel what comes up in those moments. Feel through the emotion then refocus on one of the greatest truths of all:

That the next moment is not decided and you have a choice in how you will choose to live it.

Live it in honor of your loved one(s). Live it as they would want you to live it.

Their passing can be your reminder of how precious life is & that each day is not to be taken for guaranteed.

Celebrate this holiday season.

Celebrate for them. Promise to laugh, to be joyous, to make new memories, to be kind, and to spread love. Make the promise you know in your heart your loved one(s) want you to make. ❤️

With love,

Jesse
