Coping With Loss And Going From Grief To Greatness

One thing about grief is it can come from any loss we expreience in are life though the most painful time it hit me personally as from the death of my mum. When it is someone so close or we have known for time we have an attachment and connection with them. One thing I found was people don’t know how you are feeling. Straight after I experienced the shock and numbness my body was in a place of what has just happend. Then over time this turn into me yearning for my mum like I wanted to seek for her or I thought she would appear like she had for many years. I couldn’t relax or sit still and then my sleep was affected dreams turned into nightmares when I awoke at night.

 We will all face loss and grief in our lives and in a world where everything is speeding up with technology, work and the modern world we are facing a tipping point where more and more people who are experiencing grief are feeling more and more isolated.

There is so many distractions to take you away from pain that now day’s it is easier to fill our voids with temporary fix’s sometimes in the form of food, alcohol, obsessions, drugs. Which hides the pain from the grief you truely are experincing, later this can lead to severe problems in a person’s mental well being. Being stuck in grief on the denial of death can lead to depression as the person keep’s themselves in a delusion of the reality upsetting for not only the person but all loved ones involved.

 

The world is changing at such a fast pace and with the amount of loss and death happening I want to use my pain and experience I went through to show you it is possible to face and transform your grief. When you read these statistics below you will realise how many of us are facing loss, seperation and death we are not the only ones suffering it is just we are suffering alone..

 

There were 484,367 deaths registered in England and Wales  in 2011

30% of the deaths were from cancer.

 In the U.S., 8 million people suffered through the death of someone in their immediate family last year; 800,000 new widows and widowers; 400,000 people under 25 suffered from the death of a loved one (National Mental Health Association)

The number of divorces in England and Wales in 2011 was 117,558, a decrease of 1.7% since 2010, when there were 119,589 divorces.
