Every Day You Live Is Blessed By a Soldier That Passed Away

In rows of sweet red poppies
On beaches by the sea
In dark of night and light of day
They fought for you and me
On jungle floors that moved
Or paratroopers in the sky
On ridges with no hope to win
They gave their life for you and I
They fought with everything they had
For those they'll never know
They put aside life's luxuries
So our families could grow
Their wishes were to see the smiles
Of those they love go on
For if their smiles continue
Life for them is never gone
On days you find that life is hard
Remember on that day
That every day you live is blessed
By a soldier who passed away
And sometime in your journey
Send salutes up to the sky
For just above are soldiers
Standing guard for you and I
