Love Uninterrupted

I know that you are gone from my sight

Yet my love for you has never missed a beat

I still love to savor the feeling of gentle joy so sweet

Precious moments spent - every morning, noon and night

The way I felt sitting beside you in church or in the car

How you would place your big hand over mine

As I reached out to put my hand over your thigh

Even inches away without touching felt too far

The excitement returning home to find you there

That sweet anticipation never went away

The joy at seeing you there I experienced anew every day

The sense of completeness sitting with you under the stars

How anywhere felt like home just because you were there

Life felt right – so very right with you!

There are times, despite your absence and my pretense  

When those memories are so vivid and so very real

I feel you so close again that time ceases to be

I find myself holding my breath in its delicate gossamer presence
 

Those magical moments settle over me like a warm blanket and take away my pain

For in those timeless moments we are together again

And I am once again reminded
