Missing Michael
When a Mother Loses her Child:
My body has changed since you have gone.
My hands that used to hold your hands, are empty.
My lips that kissed your cheeks, are dry.
My feet that used to run after you, are still.
My ears that heard your slightest breath, long for just one word from you.
My nose that smelled your sweet aroma, now seek your smell from your clothes.
My arms that held you, now hug anything I can to my chest.
My heart which overflowed with love for you, broke when yours stopped.
My voice that used to call your name, now sobs your name.
My eyes that beheld your beauty, have not ceased to cry since your eyes closed.
Since you have left this earth, I have stayed behind a mere shadow of myself.
Love, Mom.
