When You Go From We to Me

WHEN YOU GO FROM WE TO ME

I never noticed how much the world was filled with couples,

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.

I never noticed how TV, radio, newspaper ads are directed at couples,

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.

I never noticed how much couples enjoy sitting at a movie, eating popcorn and sharing a soda together.

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.

I never noticed couples talking quietly together in restaurants while waiting for their meal to come.

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.

I never noticed couples in church taking comfort from each other during prayer.

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.

I never thought about how much my husband loved me, supported me and made me feel safe.

I never gave it much thought when my husband was alive,

I do now.
