Compassion's Eyes

When I see the grief in the eyes of parents who have lost children,

I see a sea of love held back and unable to reach it's shore.

When I hear them speak their children's names,

I hear soft echoes of "I miss you"  in every story shared.

When I lay my hand on a grieving parent's shoulder,

I feel the solid frame of one who has been given one of life's greatest burdens,

and yet walks on with hope.
