HOW DO I GET CLOSURE? MY EXPERIENCE
HOW DO I GET CLOSURE?
MY EXPERIENCE
I love to help others who may face extreme things that have happened which are shocking. It is helpful to hear someone else had such an experience and lived. I live daily with peace and happiness and it is like this never really happened. NO PAIN, as Jesus has healed me so totally.
I pray this touches you today and helps anyone needing support today. My husband took his life which I had warnings about in my spirit. The experience of loss was like nothing I had experienced ever before. It was like I went through three deaths at once. I can say I held tight to Jesus and He brought me through with flying colors. I believe I have been able to help others who have lost their mates or family members due to this horrible circumstance.
GOING BACK TO THE SPOT
At one point I went to the place in the middle of the night where this has occurred. Without realizing it I stood on the very spot it took place and pled the blood of Jesus over our neighborhood. Intercession came on me as well as grief. I was able to let it all go by crying it out and turning it over to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The deep pain was healed in letting it out and letting it go.
GRIEF HAS ANGER
One of the symptoms of grief is anger. I was furious that my husband would put us through this pain. A few months later, one morning I went to his grave. It was raining and I had lots to deal with. I rolled the car window down and said, “You left me in a mess and left me to deal with it. I am furious with you.” I drove away and had a sense of freedom believe it or not. It is funny now but it wasn’t funny then. It was part of a closure. Of course I knew he could not hear me but it helped me to take this anger out to the air so to speak. It is laughable today.
CLOSURE
In a case as mine and my family’s, there was not proper closure for me. I never saw his body, the car, or anything associated with his death. The mind can play tricks on you. I used to think I saw him walking the streets in our town. Someone knocked on the door one day and I could not get there quick enough and I saw them walking away and crossing the street. They looked just like him. The same build, the same color of hair, the same kind of walk. The mind can trick you. Later I saw this person up closer and realized it was not him.
HOW DO YOU GET CLOSURE?
Letting those things which are behind go and looking forward to what is ahead. You have to talk to yourself and speak things out loud. You have to let it go, or death will take hold of you. You are one and that tie has to be broken on this earth. You can look forward to seeing them in heaven but today you have to live and move in life. We don’t forget the person but we must fellowship with others and let God heal us.
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Philippians 3:15 I press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
RECOGINIZE ANGER
If you continue to be angry it will affect your relationships in your life now. The scripture says to be angry and sin not. To hold on to anger and continue to is not healthy. You do have to recognize the feelings and realize it is grief. Jesus has taken our grief and our sorrow. If He has it, then we can’t have it too. Of course He has to allow what we allow. Ephesians 4:26
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
To continue in anger is against the Word. It is actually against you too. You do have control with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Speak to grief and tell it Jesus took you. I do not want a pity party of isolation. No one wants to attend a ‘pity party’. So we cut it off every time it tries to rise up.
I pray this article has helped you to walk free.
Prayer of Confession:
Jesus I acknowledge you are the healer of broken hearts. I let all the pain go. Heal me Jesus. I accept all you did on the cross for me. You took my sin, my sickness, poverty and mental anguish. Well being is mine. Rejection, you have nothing to do with me. I am accepted in the beloved. I proclaim today, Peace, health, and life is mine in Christ Jesus. I love you Lord and appreciate all you are doing in my life. I release the anger and forgive the person who left me on this earth. I hold on to you and live in the heavenly realm with you. You view it so much better than my flesh can. I choose to view it with you in that high place you have ordained me to walk in with you.
