My Father, My Friend

One day at a time

is all we can do

its the only thing we can

and know what's true

If you can look yourself in the mirror

and know you have done all you can

that's all we can do as woman and man

We are born into this world

without a choice

they only thing you can hear is my voice

So if you can hear me

please show me a sign

I know this may take some time

There is not a day that goes by

that my heart doesn't ache

im grateful you are in a better place

In my heart is where you

will be

from now until eternity

my father, my friend

always on my mind

wish I could see you

one last time
