A Poem Keith Nickerson
A poem Keith Nickerson
Shadows fill my aching heart,
The Sun, it does not shine,
And grayness, it does not part,
And leaves my soul behind.
Birds sing their songs out loud,
I hear but do not feel.
The happiness it does not come,
My brokenness are wounds of steel.
Peace I search for...
I pray to my Father in heaven,
I search for understanding,
But find, I do not, I do not...
What will my fate become?
That, I do not know.
The crest or scarlet letter,
I hold within my grasp,
The winter stays inside my head,
And I will not leave my past.
For my soul is filled with brokenness,
I can't see what's up ahead,
I'm scared and I'm afraid,
To live without you here.
I love you my son,
I love you still,
My life goes on,
But it is not my will.
