The True Heart of a Friend
Friends come in many shapes and colours
Friends have been existent since time began
Every culture knows the universal word "friend"
Nothing can "Change the World" like a friend can
When you think of a friend, you think "Soul Mate" You envision someone worthy of trust
Someone who you have confided in
To have someone you can Always count on – is a must
A true friend will have very "broad shoulders"
They will fill your life with much pleasure
They will make you want even more for yourself
Their steadfast conviction can truly be measured
A friend will support and encourage you
They will walk with you every mile
They will stand by you in all of your failings
They will light up your face with their smile
A friend is a shaunch believer
Of what is right and wrong
They couldn't be any closer than family
They have been on your journey all along
A true friend will ingeniously challenge you
They will rock you to your core
They will command your "every" emotion
They will leave you wanting to come back for more
In a victory or in a crisis
With their listening skills finely attuned
Your friend will leap into action
Their willingness is always assumed
A friend will not be afraid to speak "candidly"
When your life choices leave a lot to be desired
They will save you from your brink of destruction
Your will to go on will be re-inspired
A friend exudes Hope and Patience
They will stand up for you in your fight
They will force you to see the true self within you
They will take up your cause for what is right
In the Greek definition - a friend "stands for Love"
A methodical centuries old verity
The truths are astounding as to the word "friend"
The literal meaning to ”Love” similarity
A friend is always regarded with Honour
They have earned your highest Respect
But if you try to honour and compliment them
They will surely try to object
A friends heart is always open
It is always in plain sight it seems
The agenda of a friend is unfaltering
A friend knows all your hopes and your dreams
A friend will lift up your spirits
A friend compliments you with their love
A friend can be described as an “Angel”
Someone truly sent from Heaven above
A friend is ever ready to listen
As you ramble and try to explain
All your justifications and heartaches
Your dignity - they slowly try to regain
A friend will share their attitude
About many important things
But they always have your best interest at heart
With all the diverse solutions that they bring
They become your beacon and guide you
Towards what’s really important and true
Your love for them blossoms and flowers
Knowing each day gives you a true friend anew
A friends dwelling is in your spirit
And when you reach into your heart
You can always find your inamorato
Even though you may be miles apart
In order for you to have succeeded
In having in a real true friend
It has to be reciprocal
The circle of True friendship repeats itself to the end
Next time you see friends together
Just think of a friend who's been lost
And go and Hug your New Friend
And tell them that "you love them" - at any cost
A friend is your loyal advocate
They will stick by you to the end
A friend will wait in tears by your bedside
At the end of your life - I will remain a friend
