THE TIME WILL COME
As my boys and I one year mark of loosing Bob gets closer, we begin to prepare ourselves. How can one prepare for this kind of thing? Loss, it will come to us all. It is the reality that hits you between the eyes like a boulder from nowhere.
What can we glean from this? Is there something we can learn? I know that I personally look at things a little differently. My confusion takes over sometimes as I try to understand ,but, I must say I value life much more. Now I make sure that I take time to be with my children and loved ones and friends. We do not take THINGS with us, we do however have an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy to our family and friends. It is called RELATIONSHIP. We are all two generations away from being forgotten, that is a fact. But what we teach our children they will pass on to there children and so on and so forth.
When you loose a loved one your life is forever changed, you can never go back, you cant forget (nor would I want to, because to forget would be to deny how my children and I were enriched beyond imagination with Bob being a part of us, and us a part of him)
Those of you who have not lost a spouse, let me help you some. A widower or widow has experienced a life changing event beyond there control. You just don't get over it. It gets easier with time, but the loss will always be in that persons heart till the day they leave this world. This will come to us all. Maybe some of you have lost a brother, parent, friend, or child ect ect. you understand loss. My children WORK at not being bitter, It sometimes pokes its head up but we quickly remind ourselves that this is not productive and concentrate on the good my husband placed in our lives.
None of us are perfect. My children and I are learning to walk again. We will fall down, we will make mistakes, but we will learn and get back up.
God bless.
Isaiah 54:4-5 ESV /
“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called
