One year ago

One year ago they took you away

And told me I could no longer hold you

One year ago the darkness set in

And I have been searching for light again

One year ago your sister lost her best friend

And prays for your return each night

One year ago we held each other tight

 And prayed for an end in sight

One year ago you went away

 And life has ceased in so many ways

One year ago I prayed to see you again

And each night I close my eyes you fill my dreams

One year ago, the end is closer than it seems.
