The Emotions of Grief

I was thinking this morning about grief as I showered while crying. If I had to compare grief to something, it would be a tornado. You have the darkness and quiet before the storm approaches which is the turmoil about to erupt. Then comes the hail, winds and rain which represents the tears and anguish rising up within you. Then the tornado hits flinging debris and chaos which reflects the encompassing grief of your loss causing your mind to go in so many directions that you feel you are losing your grip on life. Then the sun comes out and the light rain which is the cleansing of your soul and pain giving hope for a new day.
