This is the story behind my parable entitled; "Until We Meet Again" that was written for a special person in my life.
I recently lost a very close uncle to Cancer. We shared the same sense of humor, the love of Elvis Presley's music and our passion for hockey, although not for the same teams, which as you can well imagine made things very interesting.
As a result, we spent a lot of time together and new each other very well, but as is the case with some close relationships, especially involving males, we never actually verbalized our fondness for one another. It was just simply left unsaid.
In fact, the same awkward apprehension is not just exclusive to men, but can sometimes exist in relationships between mothers & their daughters, between sisters, and also amid both genders I.e. fathers & daughters, mothers & sons, brothers & their sisters, and even between the very best of friends.
So, for everyone who is fortunate enough to have someone special in his or her lives, tell them that you love them, and for those who are left with no other choice than to believe in second chances, this is for you. I hope its message of faith provides some measure of comfort.
Until We Meet Again
When thinking of you and feeling sad
I cherish my memories
And long for a moment we never had.
The thing I should have said and never would
And the second chance I wish; I could.
I loved you more than you may ever know
And don't know why, I never told you so.
I truly think you always knew
And to relieve my guilt, I pray it's true.
I will live with this regret
As thoughts of you make it hard to forget.
It was you who said it goes by so fast
And we can never change the past.
Only faith can change what's been
By the simple belief in what can't be seen.
When, I find comfort and sustain
It may never ease my refrain.
Not, until we meet again.
