HOW CAN I HELP?

Every person experiences loss, at some point in their lifetime,

But we all react differently; there’s your way and mine.

Please don’t tell me how I should feel

Or give me a timeframe in which I should heal.

I don’t expect you to understand

I only ask that you hold my hand.

Help me through this process of grief;

Help me to find a source of relief.

Love me through the deepest of sorrows;

Help me to see that there is a tomorrow.

And when the time comes that you need me, for it will,

Know that whatever I can do to help you, I will.

About the Author
My name is Nicki. My husband, Bryan, was hit by a drunk driver on March 27, 2013. He was life flighted to the hospital. The next day I was told there was no hope of him recovering from his injuries. I have lost my Dad and Grandfather, but nothing has ever come close to the pain that I feel since his accident. Every day became a struggle with no hope for relief from the pain. I started writing about Bryan and this new life without him and found some comfort and hope to give comfort to others.
