Three Secrets To Receiving Signs From Your Loved Ones
“He that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools.” Confucius
YAY! Finally ...three secrets so I can talk to my loved one again
...three ways so I can understand signs, messages and synchronicities
...three tips to enhance my intuition
Well, sorta….but first…
Of course, you miss your loved one. You want to talk to them, to hug them, to hear their voice. But you know that is not possible, they no longer have a physical body. But…continuing the connection with our loved one IS possible.
It's a new connection, a new kind of relationship and we have to learn this new kind of relating.
Sending and receiving signs, symbols, synchronicities and messages is their way and interpreting them is our way of relating. So, we must learn interpreting skills.
We all WANT signs from our loved ones but prior to creating this new relationship, we must prepare ourselves to understand this new means of relating.
A Few Prerequisites To Our New Relationship…
We all want instant gratification but, remember, life is a process, grief is a process and learning how to continue the relationship with your loved one is also a process. Your grief process involves ~ quite a few steps to experience ~ quite a few emotions to feel ~ quite a few personal coping techniques to learn and ~ a whole lot of self discovery to be embraced.
You need to recognize that this is your journey and your journey just may not be like another's. This is why for several years now I have been creating a monthly newsletter, Living Differently, because grief is not only about the pain of grief but it affects your whole being; your whole "persun": personality, emotional, relational, social, universal, nature and spiritual. (PERSUNS)
So if you are to continue your relationship with your loved one after their physical death, there has to be:
A decision to do so
An openness to learn new awarenesses about yourself and your world
A willingness to stretch yourself to learn about, notice and use different muscles (ie: heart)
A decision for movement and to trust yourself in your process
All of the above are major steps in your grief journey and require more than a simple discussion here. (This will be discussed over time in my future blog posts, through the newsletter and through activities on my new website) But we can do some preliminary work to fortify and prepare you for a new beginning in your life.
Three Tools To Boost Your Ability to Receive Signs, Messages and Synchronicities
Knowing that "success" will not be instantaneous, here are three tools that you can use to prepare yourself for your continuing relationship with your child or loved one. They may seem simplistic and you may wonder "how can these tools relate to my deceased loved one and my new relationship with them?" I will describe them so this makes sense.
1. Drink Water: You may know that your body is made up of 70% water. You probably know that water helps you look and feel better and is a better alternative to high-calorie sugar-sweetened drinks. Water is also a good agent on a weight control plan, helps in organ functioning, mood stability, digestion, prevents headaches and balances muscle cells to avoid fatigue.
But for our purpose: drinking water also keeps you alert (for focus) improves attention span and memory. Water hydrates the brain to unblock the fog and inability to focus.
Additionally, proper hydration with water also heightens your intuition so that you can receive clear messages. Water is an amplifier for manifesting, for clarity to help you understand your dominant receiving modality be it clairvoyance,(clear seeing) clairaudience, (clear hearing) clairsentience (clear feeling) or claircognizance. (clear knowing) (Your intuition uses your senses to describe or receive information/knowledge)
Water amplifies your intuition and so it heightens your intuition and your ability to recognize it. (remember EVERYONE has intuition!) Water will help you learn to receive clearer messages from your loved ones, operate with a focused brain and enable you to trust what you are receiving.
Being near a body of water; a river, a lake, the ocean or even in the shower also boosts the amplification of your intuition.
2. Deep Breathing: Numerous health benefits of breathing techniques are documented in research, science, mind-body work and many therapies. Medical conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, depression, anxiety and respiratory illnesses have been treated with breath work.
We know that when we become panicked, anxious, depressed or stressed we tend to take short, shallow breaths. Shallow breathing restricts oxygen to the blood which causes all sorts of reactions including reduction of blood flow to the entire body and muscle tenseness.
Shallow breathing perpetuates your stress cycle while deeper breathing allows increased oxygen into your body and exhaling toxins to help relax your physical body while focusing your mind.
But for our purpose: Your energy (life force) and your energetic information travels in the oxygen you inhale. If you take shallow breaths you shut down your ability to interpret or perceive your "clair" (your dominant receiving modality above)
Anything that increases your body movement, like yoga, Tai chi, walking, swimming, treadmill exercising or conscious deep breathing increases oxygen intake, thus increasing your ability to perceive and receive signs, messages andsynchronicities.
3. Journaling: This is one of my favorite grief tool that helps you engage in your process by moving beyond thethinking to the doing of your processing. Journaling can bring a sense of relief by identifying feelings, exploring your personal grieving and lessons learned from your grieving.
Journaling allows you to see where you are, the direction you're heading and the changes you have made.
But for our purpose: Establishing a routine of journaling; writing at the same time of day, using the same pen and notebook or computer, creating rituals for your journaling task gives you focus and an opening up of your channel to receive information. Write a question down. Write down your intuitive "hits," - those ideas that seem to come out of nowhere! (write down what happened, how you felt about it, learn what works for you) Responding with your hunches and ideas helps you begin to receive lessons about your intuition. By doing this, you are quieting your mind and opening your heart because your mind thinks and your heart feels.
Open your heart. You are releasing your inner knowing and inviting your guides, angels and loved ones to help you.
Signs, Messages and Synchronicities
You know that love doesn't die. There is no such thing as death. You know that your loved ones live on. Most all major religions speak of eternal life. So why would you not want to maintain your relationship with your loved ones who no longer have their physical body? If they are still here, (which they are!) it is up to you to learn how to understand the new communication between you.
With signs, messages, symbols, synchronicities, and divine nudges your loved ones, guides, angels and all your helpers are trying to gain your attention, are encouraging your awareness of their presence and are supporting your trust in the sayings you hear in your grief process. (ie: "love never dies", love is forever", "your loved ones are still with you", etc) But..we..often..miss..their... signs…
Give these three tools a try. They work and they certainly can't hurt! I hope they make a difference in your grief journey… Chris
P.S. Which one do you think you might try?
