I live in N. Ireland with my husband and family. On 19th April 2013 my 15 year old daughter Leah was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called myelodysplasia with monosomy 7. This had been caused by an even rarer Gata 2 genetic mutation. Leah's response was to say that God had a plan for her life and that we needed to see the bigger picture. We spent 14 weeks in Bristol in England where Leah was successfully transplanted with her brother's bone marrow. However Leah developed various complications post transplant. On the 28th December '13 Leah was admitted to the ICU at Belfast City Hospital with breathing difficulties. On the 16th January '14 Leah died peacefully, and surrounded by love, in the N.I. Children's Hospice, due to Idiopathic Pneumonia Syndrome.
I write a Wordpress blog called My Journey.
