I MISS THE LITTLE THINGS
Little things. Life is made up of them.
In fact, the little stuff can be gigantic.
Reminders are Everywhere
“Everything reminds me that Craig’s gone. I especially miss the little things,” Selena said as she stood in her kitchen.
“He opened the door for me. He put gas in the lawnmower. He grilled. He hogged the remote. He took out the trash.”
She glanced at a pickle jar on the counter. “There’s no one to open jars for me now,” she said.
You know what she means.
Indeed, it’s the little things.
The Heart is Full of Small Stuff
Perhaps your mind is filling right now with some of the little things your loved one did – those endearing, even frustrating quirks that were part of his or her personality.
Reminders will bring tears. Further down the road, they’ll also bring smiles and laughter. Go ahead and miss the little things. They matter more than you know.
Here’s an affirmation for today:
“I’ll cherish the little things I miss about you. I never want to forget them.”
The heart is full of small stuff. It’s the guts of life, and makes all the difference.
“There’s no one to open jars for me now.”
