Look For Me Inside Your Memories
Look for me inside your memories
Where I left you with my love
Look for me within your heart
Look for me inside your memories
Where I left you with my love
Look for me within your heart
What can you say about your mother
as she is like no other
Her love heals and her hugs dry eyes
now we look up to you in the skies
they are blue and full of surprise
just as I see you so loving
so true, now free from pain
you taught us all to remain
as well as others to contain
that called you mom
It had been about a year since her dad’s death. My friend, Lizzy was eleven when we had a conversation about what healing looks like.
Such a simple idea… slowing down, taking stock of our lives, making the choice to focus on the good we have, and spending less time searching and yearning for what we don’t.
I am so happy to say
I love you everyday
no matter what we have
mo matter what we do
i know we stick together like glue
i got your back, as you have mine
im so grateful for all the time
we have together
To understand it is precious and not promised
forever
To understand its now or never
for all I have and for all you do
Today I will stand tail and remember all our good times
we have shared...Your life was my life and my life was your life as we were one...
I was your mini me, your daughter, your best friend
i will honor you until the end
Time goes by so fast
making my memories hard to last
I miss you dad, I really do
I have to push every day to get through
From the author: This is an article that you can share with those around you to help them know what’s going on in the grieving heart. We need each other – desperately.
The Grief Toolbox has been very helpful to me in my time of pain and sorrow and I hope to contribute and comfort others as well. I decided to go back to a time when my scar was a deep fresh wound. I journaled this just two months after the sudden loss of my precious six-year-old grandson, Dylan Skye.
