Bryce's Story

I can see and smell Fall in the air and it is not welcoming this year. We got married in the Fall as it use to be our favourite season. Now, not so much.

As Bryce's 1st year anniversary quickly approaches I find myself, more than usual, deeply reflecting on the past year. THIS IS NOT MY LIFE! is what screams constantly and very loudly in my head (and sometimes out loud too).

You always think it’s not going to happen to you, in your family. It’s the horribly saddening stories that you see on TV, in the news, read in the paper when you think “Oh my goodness, I can’t imagine if that happened to me….” And then just like that, we WERE those people you see on the news…and that DID happen to us. That’s a life adjustment you never really adjust to.

Bryce was born April 10, 20003 - Passed away October 5, 2014.

~ Bryce died playing The Choking Game ~

Prior to Bryce's death we had zero knowledge of this game or that our very own child was actually playing this very deadly game with his friends/peers on the school grounds/football field.
Bryce is our only child.
Bryce was a normal happy go lucky tween, he was in 6th grade in school, very witty, gentle, kind, curious, athletic, very caring and loving.
Bryce is very missed by all his family, friends and all who knew him in his short years here with us.
Our home is shocking quiet now and only with the memories of Bryce, do we really understand the emptiness that such a beautiful soul can leave. He filled our home with energy, antics, laughter and most of all life. He will never be forgotten and will be loved with all our hearts, ALWAYS.
Our mission is to honor his legacy by saving the lives of any other kids and sparing families from this type of blindsiding loss.

October 11th is World Wide Choking Game Awareness Day~

We pray for his 1 year every single one of all of family and friends speak of Bryce, share his story and therefore educate those who did'nt know like us prior of this very deadly game. We believe knowledge is power.

We will never understand why this happened to us but we do both choose to Evolve. For Bryce, With Bryce along side of us ~

Sincerely, xo
Kerri/Malcolm
