When you died, I thought you had left me
Now I realise I'm forever changed as you will always be within me
I carry you in every part of me
My mind cannot think as it's full of my memories of you
It now carries your thoughts, dreams and aspirations too
My eyes cannot see you, as with a veil of tears they're embossed
I weep for us both now for the future we've lost
My voice cannot speak, as your voice is within me
It overwhelms my own telling me you love and miss me
My ears cannot hear anything around me
As I listen to your whispers of encouragement and your voice that guide me
My mouth cannot open for anyone to visibly see
as your lips are kissing me
My lungs cannot get enough air
As I'm now breathing for us both in my despair
My heart cannot beat the same as it's broken, its other half is with you
It's heavy as it's filled with your love and now beats for too
My stomach cannot be content with the food on my plate
As it's now digesting for us both and can't bear to see your empty plate
My arms & hands cannot move, as we are entwined
Your arms are hugging me and your hands are holding mine
My legs cannot walk without collapsing under me
As I'm carrying you with me
My soul cannot connect with this world in anything I do
As it's now connected with you
My being will learn to endure the pain of your loss as we are one
