I Love You Too
“I Love You Too”
I heard your prayers, I saw your tears
For those who couldn’t stay.
By God I sat, softly watching you--
I was never far away.
The raw and yearning want for child,
“Please, will you fill this hole?”
Before I was alive, you see,
We felt each other’s soul.
Your loving core, it called me forth,
With tender heart of gold.
“A mother dear!” I said to God—
“Can I have her to hold?”
“You’ve earned your place and needed here—
But choice is of your will.”
“I want to go; just one more ‘round--
Her heart I want to fill.
“I’ll be back soon. Heaven’s my home...
But her I want to show,
Though life is hard, Our Love is real.”
…And this is how you know:
Before you even prayed for me
I was on my way to you--
And before you said “I love you”
I said, “I love you too.”
On Earth, the sadness and the pain--
I know what you endure.
I’d been through mine, but be assured,
These lessons learned are pure.
So understand, my time here—planned;
Before I chose to come,
I knew that in a few short years,
My time just here’d be done.
“I love you too.” You’re who I chose--
A mother for a son.
Let go the pain and rest assure,
Forever we are One.
