I wish I didn't miss you,

I wish I didn't cry,

I wish I'd had a moment

With which to say goodbye.

I wish I hadn't fallen,

I wish I hadn't known,

I wish I'd had more years with you

And less years spent alone.

I wish I hadn't kissed you,

I wish I'd never believed,

I wish I'd cherished more the days

And less feared that you'd leave.

My darling all these wishes

Will nevermore come true,

Except the one that wishes

Eternity with you.
