My Vow

I made a vow to myself tonight

Hoping it will last throughout my life

That in me I have the strength to fight

Wipe away the pain, sorrow and negativity

It's lingering does more bad than good

The Lord, I trust knows what will become of me

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

I've made mistakes along the road

I've learned and moved on

He knows all about my heavy load

I'm sorry it took this long

A tragedy to happen to open these eyes

Forgive me for all that I've done wrong

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

I press on not thinking of what's ahead

My trust in You in pure and true

I've built many mansions is what You've said

I have no questions and I have no doubts

You are truly in my heart

Thank you for giving me a fresh start

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

I pray to be loving, compassionate and kind

Anger, sadness and greed is not worth my time

This bond between us, I will bind

Love thy neighbor I will preach

In hopes they will feel your love

And desire what you teach

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

I've given up all

The worry, the stress, the planning

Because of You, I know I have a call

I leave it in your hands my Lord

Take it day by day

In my grip i feel the sword

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

With this in my grip, I have the power in me

Free will you have given us all

We decide what we will be

I pray every night that I am able to come home

Once my journey on earth has ended

And my life here can be recited as a poem

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right

Give me the gift to preach Your Word

Let me save as many as I can

I pray that Your voice be heard

We look forward to the joy and peace

No fear as we move along

Our belief in You will be made strong

Trust in Him

Above all else

He knows the way

He knows my heart

He's the light

He knows what's right
