Loss of a Child

Surely Someone Could Have Done Something

When loss strikes, we're stunned. We wonder about many things. Did it have to happen? Could someone have done something to prevent it?

From the Grieving Heart:

Please Forgive Me

Forgiveness can be a huge part of our grieving process. Forgiving ourselves is often the biggest challenge of all.

From the Grieving Heart:

My Guilt List Has No End

Guilt is not our friend, yet he comes visiting often. At times, it seems there is no end to the things we wonder about and can feel guilty for.

I Feel Guilty

What happened? Why? We look for someone responsible. Often, that somehow ends up being us. We feel guilty.

From the Grieving Heart:

I Can't Get Enough Air

Anxiety can be a terrible thing. It can hijack a life. In grief, our anxiety baseline naturally rises. Panic attacks can come out of the blue.

Who's Next?

When loss hits, it shakes our world. Everything seems to change. Suddenly, we realize we could lose anyone at any time. Fear begins to invade.

Where Did Everyone Go?

When loss hits, our world changes. This includes our relationships. No one seems to understand. People disappear. We wonder, "Where did everyone go?"

One Step Forward and Two Steps Back

Healing after Child Loss

Life, at least my life, isn’t about me fixing “me”. There are just some things that life throws our way that cannot be fixed, no matter how hard you try.  Life, though, as painful as those unexpected things it tosses our way is about finding yourself.  But for me, it's was finding myself in the present.

I'm Not Sleeping Well

We've been hit by loss. Everything seems to have changed. Our lives have been upended, and even our sleep is disrupted. Fatigue becomes the norm.
