The pain of saying goodbye
Hurts more than
the day you died.
For it means
I'm not forgetting us
but I need to move on.
One day,
we will meet again
and we'll never have to say
goodbye.
For then,
my life on earth
will have ended.
But 'til then
I need to do what I must
to start healing.
So for now,
it'll just be
goodbye for a while.
