Words for the Journey

Discover a sanctuary of perspectives, tools, and shared experiences written for people living with grief.

I lost my kid

He should be here

I shout on rooftops

for all to hear

They look at me

And point and shrug

When what  I want

is a hug.

I'd like to think

His death that came

Would inspire others

And spark a flame.

To Find a cure

To stand up tall

To never faulter

And never fall.

But when I look

who stands with me

I am surprised

who I see

Who turns their head

And close their eyes.

That pretend

They did not hear

All the cries.

It wasn't their child

Wasn't their kid.

They may ask

Why should I?

Change my profile

And share a post

Are you afraid?

you've done too much?

You say you care

So show me now

Stand with me

Stand Right NOW!

Alone I admit little is done

But with many

Cancer will be won!

I really pray

That one day

I will look

and loudly say

Thank you friends

For standing up

We knocked  the

Tumors on their butts!

We took a stand

We took the pain.

 Not one more child

will die in vain.
