YOUR FINAL GIFT

I picked up your head stone
The other night
I looked at it
And said it isn't right

In plain view
I read your name
Why did you write that?
I exclaimed!!!

I said "oh no"..
This can't be good...
With your name on there, looking
I just stood

Then it's true...
I thought to myself...
It wasn't a dream...
I start to melt

I hung my head..
Carried the stone
Don't talk me...
Just leave me alone

I never wanted....
To give you this
But this is it...
Your final gift

I didn't wrap it
But it's neatly placed
Right on top
Of your resting space
