My Amazing Gift

One day God blessed me with the most amazing gift
It was 1995 on Sept. 5th
A Big healthy bundle of joy, my Only Son, my baby boy
As years they passed I loved each one, Each day I had with you my son
You grew into a handsome young man
Your loving gaze, warm embrace. You always wore a smiling face
Tall and strong you grew into, the greatest man I ever knew.
Never the day did I think would come, that I would lose you my son.
But, that day it did come
A truck hit and killed my son.
I ask God how he allowed just this
What did I do to make him reclaim his gift.
I often ask God when I pray
Why dear God take my Son away?
Why dear God couldn't you let him stay?
Tell me God how I offended thee?
But, God has yet to answer me
Or heal this pain that I cant set free.
But I can't hate God for all of this
For it was he who blessed me with that amazing gift
in 1995 on September 5th.
So my DD
I wrote you this,
as your 21st birthday gift
I hope you know how much your loved and missed.
