We learn, from an early age by words, actions and deeds, that when we love deeply we will know, with an instinct born of that love, when something is wrong or bad is about to happen. We believe this to be true and that if we love enough, love will conquer everything, nothing is impossible in love. Almost from birth, we have been saturated in the knowledge that love conquers all.
Grief... it hurts, it's raw and it's a journey filled with feelings that can be extreme.
Often we don't want to feel these feelings. Often we resist them.
I found the more I resisted my painful feelings the more they persisted. When I allowed my feelings to come through and then expressed them through my writing the healing began.

It is raining again – I am more comfortable in cold and rainy weather because it mirrors my soul. Sunny, bright weather seems wrong as it emphasizes a world that continues on happily, other lives and people in love untouched by my pain – happy sunny weather, happy people in my cold world where I don’t fit in anymore. The cold greyness suits me.
We each will carry, for the rest of our lives, the burdens of last words spoken, last actions taken, memories of a moment in time that was beyond our control. Our souls will bear the guilt of what we did or didn't do because we are human and humans tend to blame themselves whether they are to fault or not.
